Potential redevelopment sites

Queen Street plays a vital role in connecting people between the railway station and the town centre. This includes visitors and tourists as well as local people. Closest to the station, the eastern end of Queen Street, known locally as take-away alley, is a busy street and it can be difficult to cross. Some improvement works have already taken place along the western end of Queen Street but there is also the opportunity to enhance the eastern end (near the train station) to help people who walk, wheel or cycle.
