Potential redevelopment sites

The Cattlemarket (also known as Livestock Market), once a key agricultural hub in Devon, is now mainly used for car parking, but has a low level of use. Because of this, the site has been highlighted as having redevelopment potential for new homes, or specialist housing designed for older people. Alternatively, the site would be large enough to accommodate a new leisure centre but would rely on other nearby parking provisions. We're exploring ideas for a travel hub between the Cattlemarket and the Multi Storey Car Park. This hub could include secure cycle storage , e-cycle hire , more space for walking, wheeling and cycling, and better bus passenger facilities, such as an indoor waiting area. It would complement the upgraded bus stops on Sherborne Road, which will soon feature new lighting and real-time service information.
